The United States Peace Corps Togo is seeking an individual for the position of Cashier

 

OPEN TO : All interested candidates

POSITION : Cashier

OPENING DATE : June 19, 2018

CLOSING DATE : July 3, 2018

STATUS : Full Time (40 hours per week)

A- POSITION OVERVIEW

The Principal Class B Cashier (hereafter “Cashier”) performs the full range of “Principal Class B” Cashier duties at post. The incumbent has full responsibility for managing an Imprest Fund (cash transactions) including local currency, US dollars, and associated documents.

This is a multi-functional position requiring a great degree of motivation, planning, flexibility, availability, creativity and a high degree of self-direction, organization and ethics. The Cashier liaises directly with : Global Account Payable (GAP) at Peace Corps Washington, Financial Service Center (FSC)/Charleston, FSC/Paris France, and local banks, and provides services to vendors, staff and Volunteers.

B- MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Peace Corps Director for Management and Operations, the Cashier duties include tasks related to collections, disbursements, accommodation exchange payments, accountability, examination, safekeeping, replenishment, and other processing of all Peace Corps cash/check payment transactions.

The incumbent will also be responsible for management of the Mobile Money transaction system for payments to unbanked recipients.

C- QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Applicant must be able to submit supporting documents of how she/he meets each of the following qualifications :

Education : Completion of secondary school is required. University degree in finance, accounting, business management or a related field is desirable.

Work Experience : At least three (3) years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, business management or a related field is required.

Three to five years with an international/multicultural organization is desirable.

Language : Excellent command of English (Level IV) and French is required.

Skills and abilities : Must have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Accounting Software) and be able to build and maintain good interpersonal relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and supervisors.
